Joy Williams is an LA Based celebrity hairstylist, makeup artist, educator, and beauty industry expert with over 20 years of professional experience. Known for her artistry and leadership, she served as the Lead Hairstylist for Miss USA for three consecutive years (2019–2021) and was a Lead Stylist for Miss Universe 2019, leaving a lasting impact on the pageant world. Most recently, she worked with Miss America 2027, Regan Hutsell, guiding her curly hair care and styling tutorials as she became the first Miss America ever to win with her own natural hair!

 In 2023, her brand, Joy Williams Beauty, was named the Official Hair and Makeup Sponsor for Miss Black USA, further solidifying her presence backstage at some of the most prestigious beauty and cultural events in the world. Joy has also led and contributed to hair and makeup teams at New York Fashion Week across multiple seasons.

 Her work as a published beauty writer has appeared in major publications, including O Magazine, Cosmopolitan, and American Salon.

 Joy was named New Hairstylist of the Year in 2021 by the Texture Style Awards, where she made history for her groundbreaking contributions to styling all hair textures. A passionate advocate for equity in beauty, Joy serves as a Collaborative Coach with Texture vs. Race, championing inclusivity, accountability, and representation within the industry.

Her previous roles include: Guest Speaker - Paul Mitchell the School, Executive Master Educator- International  and Creative Artistic Team Platform Artist at Farouk Systems, where she also made history as The First Black Woman On-Air Personality for CHI Haircare and a regular On- Air Guest on the Home Shopping Network.

Today, Joy leads as the Brand Marketing and Business Development Director of Joy Williams Beauty and Lead Educational Director at JWB Academy, mentoring the next generation of hair and makeup artists. Through her academy and freelance team, she provides emerging artists with opportunities to work on diverse projects across the country. She continues to work with clients by appointment only at The Ministry Salon - Silver Lake in Los Angeles, CA.
